Pinocchio Recommendation

Dear friend,

Yesterday was the Netflix premiere of Guillermo del Toro’s stop motion version of Pinocchio. 

Incredible. 

Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is a remake, a better frame would be a reimagining of one of the greatest stories ever told, a story that is as engaging today as it was when it was published 140 years ago. Highly recommended.

The visual style of Del Toro’s Pinocchio was inspired by illustrations of Gris Grimly. Being a fan of Grimly’s dark-yet-playful art, I recently purchased a couple prints from his website (madcreator.com) to give as Christmas presents.
