The Elevator Pitch
Letter Zero 41
Dear friend,
Many of you ordered User Zero without me really explaining what it is about. Your faith in me is humbling, thank you! For everyone else, I owe you something more than just, “Hey, buy my book!” That’s the void I want to fill today. So what the heck is User Zero all about?
The book starts by questioning the obvious, a tool as basic as your humble hammer, only to realize things are not as simple as they seem. As we retrace the evolution of our gadgets you’ll notice we’ve gotten a little bit stupider with each iteration. From pinball to pixels, playgrounds to Powerpoints, bicycles to Beetles, Coke bottles to cockpits – I’ll take you on a tour of the invisible side of technology that, I’ll warn you ahead of time, picks fights with some sacred cows. And at the exact moment where you see where I am heading, right as you realize that something bad is going to happen, that’s the instant I’ll stick you behind the wheel of driverless cars, insert you into the cockpit of falling planes, and place you on the bridge of out-of-control Navy destroyers so that you’ll have a front row seat when tragedy strikes. Buckle up.
Plus, User Zero has ghost stories, life hacks, and tales of tragedy and triumph. There are cameos from my heroes — appearances by Nikola Tesla, Bucky Fuller, Isaac Asimov, Dean Kamen, and James Dyson. And guiding us on this odd adventure is an unlikely mentor, an ancient hermit who promises to awaken your long-lost world-altering ability.
Writing User Zero might be the best thing I’ve ever written. It was certainly the most challenging thing I’ve ever attempted to create. Give it a chance and see if it lives up to my hype. Here’s where you can find User Zero: Inside the Tool that is Reshaping Dystopia.

You honor me with your attention. Thank you. I’ll write again next Sunday. Stay creative.
Your friend,
Adrian
P.S. I have some really great stuff I am looking forward to showing you in the coming weeks. For example, there’s a bonus chapter of User Zero about creative energy. I also have a deep dive behind my book cover that shows my rejected designs and hundreds of images that inspired me as I worked. I can’t wait to show you. Life is good. Have a great week.
