My mantra is “beauty hides in plain sight.”
But if it’s hiding in plain sight, how the heck do you see it? You don’t have to go to art school or take classes about theories of aesthetics.
It’s much easier than that.
It’s a practice. And by “practice” I don’t mean it’s a skill like learning to play piano. It’s more like a mindset. It’s similar to the practice of gratitude. Miserable people transform when they stop focusing on what is going wrong in their life and intentionally give thanks for what they do have.
The same is true for finding beauty.
You can’t see it until you re-focus your attention on what’s around you and take note of what’s interesting in your surroundings. Don’t allow yourself to dismiss the ordinary and mundane… or the beauty will keep hiding.
Stay creative. Your friend,
Ade
