I’m excited to announce that my art will be part of Glastonbury Festival in a couple weeks. My receipts and money animations will be featured on the main stage of Terminal 1. This area of the festival is an airport that is re-purposed as an art gallery. You can get a sense of the space from this video.
I sure wish I could get to the UK somehow to see it in person but I’m hoping to get photos from the event that I can share. Are there any readers who will be going? If only I could infest the terminal and carhenge with some of my insect stickers.
In other news…
I’m also honored to have a story about my work on It’s Nice That. I’m particularly satisfied with this quote: “When these moments loop they start to feel profound because they have no beginning or end. That runner is never gonna get a break. That woman will never be finished taking out the trash. The ballerina will be eternally spinning.”
My only gripe is that they didn’t use my full quote about an artist who influenced me. I’ll post it here to compensate:
“My biggest creative influence is probably Reinhold Marxhausen. He made murals, handheld sound sculptures, and experimental art. He recognized the beauty in ordinary objects like dryer lint or wood scraps and taught people to see differently. My motto, “beauty hides in plain sight” is a very Marxhausen idea.”
It’s Nice That also shared a reel about me and it’s doing pretty well with 106k views so far. So that feels good, too.
All this recognition feels great and comes on the heels of having my art on the Hi-Fructose Instagram feed and a mention in Studio Notes. I must be doing something right.
Stay creative. Your friend,
Ade
So damn cool, congrats Ade - this is huge! Looking forward to seeing some shots from the festival :)
